2016 Stonier Lyncroft Chardonnay
Located in the hills above Shoreham, the dry grown Lyncroft Chardonnay vines have a south easterly disposition towards the cold waters of Bass Strait and are usually the last of our Chardonnay grapes to be picked, The Lyncroft always has a very distinctive nose with lemon purity and floral notes, with the 2016 showing some attractive and richer honey suckle aromas too. The palate is very complex, with a slightly creamy texture with hints of oatmeal, but ultimately with Lyncroft’s searing sherbert like acidity under-pinning everything nicely. 50% malo-lactic fermentation. Bottled January, 2017.
