The dark fruit spectrum which tends to be a feature of this vintage is very apparent in this wine, with earthy fruits and roasted beetroot.

Lifted and vibrant aromas of red fruits and red roses, as well as a hint of potpourri. Red fruits are certainly the theme on the palate too, with a nice tension keeping things tight and bright.

Only ever bottled in tiny quantities, the 2016 Thompson Chardonnay seems to be our most aromatics release, with an abundance of florals, from lavender through to chamomile, together with an array of different dried herbs. 

The characters of the KBS Vineyard Pinot Noir certainly shine through with the 2015 vintage, with herbal red cherry and raspberry compote flowing to a palate showing sweet juicy red fruits and a hint of raspberry liquorice. 

The 2017 vintage release is certainly living up to what we expect from this vineyard, but with that little bit extra. It is a Chardonnay that feels very much together with fruit and acid balance and many dimensions.
