Sourced from a combination of our best blocks all within the subregion of Merricks, with most of it coming off the Estate & the Thompson Vineyard. This was the first block planted by Brian Stonier surrounding his home in 1978, and is one of the oldest continuous Chardonnay plantings on the Mornington Peninsula. Low yields on these blocks leading to lovely concentration.

The KBS Vineyard is named after our founder (Kenneth) Brian Stonier. The vineyard was planted in front of the winery in 1988 on a steep red volcanic east-facing slope. For many decades this has been one of the pedigree Chardonnay blocks on the Peninsula. The wine always has a lovely balance of power and acidity.

Selected from our most powerful plots on our Estate in Merricks. The 1982 planted 40-rows plot represents the core of the blend supplemented with parcels from KBS. This wine has incredible power and the hallmark Stonier salinity that we see also in the KBS vineyard.

Like our Stonier Chardonnay, generally from our higher vineyards across Merricks & Merricks North.  Generally higher elevation but in this case with Merricks north, slightly earlier ripening and more fruit forward. This wine has lovely depth of red fruit and fine tannins, perfect for enjoying in its youth.

Sourced from a combination of our Estate and best grower vineyards, Gance and Merrifield, planted by Stonier and are over 25 years old. All within the subregion of Merricks. Our vines benefit from rich volcanic soils and cooling effects of Westernport Bay.

The north-facing Windmill block is a pedigree Pinot Noir block for us. It is north facing on bright red volcanic soil. The cordon in this vineyard is quite low to the ground, much like in burgundy. The heat radiates off the soil and creates more ripeness and red fruit intensity in this block.

From our oldest planting of Pinot Noir, the Stonier Family Vineyard, planted in 1982. This block is surrounded by forest on dark volcanic soils with a north west aspect. For all these reasons it has a dark, earthy intensity. The flavour profile and density is simply unlike anything else we see in our vineyards.

Sourced from grower vineyards located on the cool, Southern side of the Mornington Peninsula, our Stonier Chardonnay walks that perfect line between abundance of flavour and the vitality of cool climate acidity. With a deeply mineral and moreish palate, this much adored wine consistently over delivers.
